How deep is the lake?
The average depth of the lake is 90 feet.
What kind of fish are in the lake?
Largemouth bass, small mouth bass, white bass, Kentucky bass, Bluegill, Crappie, Catfish, Walleye and Striper Bass.
When was Dam built?
Construction on Kentucky dam began in 1941 and was completed in 1950.
Can people fish from the dock?
Sorry, but no. For the safety of other people, we ask that people who want to fish close to the marina go to the shoreline.
Is fuel available at Kentucky Dam?
Yes, we offer both 90 Octane Gas and Diesel. Fuel prices change often, so call the ship store for a current price.
Do you sell live bait and fishing licenses?
No, we do not have live bait or fishing licenses. We do sell fishing lines, bobbers, hooks, and various other fishing supplies.
Where do I go to check-in for my reservation?
If you are checking in for a current reservation, please go to the ship store. The ship store is located on our rental pier/fuel dock. The bridge next to the large, brown, oval “Kentucky Dam Marina” sign will lead you down to the building.
Do you have a pump-out station?
Yes, we do have a pump out station located on our fuel dock.

BOAT RENTAL FAQ'S
Are lifejackets provided?
Yes, we do keep the traditional orange life vests on every boat, below the seats. We also provide various sizes of life jackets from infant to XL upon request. You can also bring your own.
What kind of boats can we rent?
We have Double Decker Pontoons, Princecraft 23 Tritoons, Aloha 25 Tritoons, Paddleboards, Single-Person Kayaks, and 2-Person Kayaks.
- Our Double Decker Pontoons seat up to 12 people and have a 75 HP motor. There is also a waterslide. This boat cannot pull a tube.
- Our Princecraft 23 Tritoons seat up to 10 people and have a 115 HP motor. This boat can pull a tube.
- Our Aloha Tritoons seat up to 10 people and have a 175 HP motor. This boat can pull a tube. These boats are brand new as of the 2021 season!
Is there any shade on the boat?
Yes, every boat has a Bimini Top, or canvas, covering the boat to provide shade.
What is your late return policy?
There is a late return policy of $50 per 15 minutes over return time. It is imperative that you return your rental on time because a late return can turn into a safety issue.
What if I’ve never driven a boat before?
Don’t worry! You don’t need a special license to drive one of our rental boats. Before you leave the dock, you will be given a safety orientation at Kentucky Dam Marina. Our staff will show you how to drive the boat and explain how to use everything on board. We also offer a safety video online. And of course, don’t be afraid to ask questions until you’re comfortable!
How old do you have to be to drive the boat?
You must be at least 21 years old to drive the boat.
